As the second oldest hotel in town, Gloucester Luk Kwok’s historic background differentiates it from other hotels in Hong Kong. To celebrate its 80th anniversary, a series of events built around its iconic old Hong Kong image was held to reinforce the hotel’s uniqueness.
The 80th anniversary cocktail and gala dinner took place in October 2013, where our event and PR team strived to ensure that every detail was done to perfection to create an all-round nostalgic experience for each of our visitors. A photo wall showcasing the hotel’s history with valuable pictures taken in the past 80 years took the center stage at our cocktail.
The hotel’s signature rickshaw was also displayed as a photo backdrop, portraying the original entrance of the hotel in the old days. Themed “a night of nostalgia”, the 80th anniversary gala dinner re-enacted Luk Kwok’s once famous “Jambo Room”.
